Ripples Of DA Elections: Man Goes Berserk-Slice Opponents Ear, Hits Another With Club (PHOTO)

Justice for a 25-year- old man who suffered cutlass attack, leading to the loss of his left ear, seems to be far from reach as police in Akropong, a suburb of the Akuapem North Constituency in the Eastern Region, have allegedly developed cold feet over the issue, the New Crusading GUIDE has gathered.

Samuel Addo was walking home after speculations that his preferred candidate hadA lost the just ended District Assembly Elections at Abiriw, when one Kenneth Kwatia aka Kwame K, attacked on him with a sharp cutlass he had hidden in his cloth. But for the timely intervention of some passers-by, sources say Kenneth Kwatia would have smothered life out of Samuel Addo.

Even when he had fallen helplessly in the pool of blood, Kwame K. further gave a second strike that almost split his head into two.

According to one eye witness, whom we only identified as Akoto, “we then rushed Addo to the Koforidua Central Police Station, where he was admitted for two good weeks. He has now been released from the hospital but the doctors say it is likely that he would lose his ear drum.

We reported the case to the police and he was arrested the following day which was a Wednesday, but was granted bail the next day, but when we contacted the police, they said that the courts had gone on vacation and there was no way they could nail the suspect. As I am talking to you right now the guy is walking freely and nothing has been done to make sure justice is served”.

Narrating what actually happened before the incidence, Mr. Akoto said one of the District Assembly aspirants, Emmanuel Appietu Awuku had almost emerged winner of the elections from the provisional results and that only one polling station was left before final declaration, but because it was getting late all the parties decided that it be counted the following morning.

“So as the supporters of Emmanuel Appietu were celebrating at about 10; 40pm, ahead of the declaration the following day, Kwame K, who was one of the staunch supporters met Samuel Addo on his way home and threatened that now they are in power so if he (Samuel) messed up with him (Kwame K) he would cut him down like a palm fruit” Mr. Akoto explained.

It was whilst on his way after the consensus that Kenneth Kwatia butchered him to the grave.

Meanwhile, the Akropong District Crime Officer, DSP Adepa, who also confirmed the story in a phone interview with this reporter said, the Akropong Circuit Court has been on vacation for the past month, and that delayed legal actions filed against the culprit.

He said the court had resumed and was dragging the culprit to court today to showcase why he should not be jailed.
