Brand Ghana Office Useless Venture Kwesi Pratt Jnr

Editor of the Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has questioned the wisdom in establishing the Brand Ghana office under the Mills administration.

The office was set up in a bid to re-brand Ghana in order to become a global competitor in attracting foreign investors.

However this brilliant concept appears to be in coma after the demise of President Mills. Virtually nothing has been heard from this state institution at least for the past three years.

Since the inception of this Brand Ghana concept, there has hardly been any conscious campaign on a renowned global media platform where Ghana is being advertised.

Furthermore scarcely has there been on our local media landscape, any intensive advertisement to publicize places of interest to Ghanaians.

Contributing to a discussion on Peace FM Friday on the need for an aggressive marketing of Ghanaian products on the international market to reduce the dependency on foreign products, Veteran Journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr described the establishment of the Brand Ghana Office as a waste of state resources.

What is Brand Ghana? That office is a useless venture. I wonder if it’s still functioning, what at all is that office doing, nothing is heard from them”.
