The Mankrado was interacting with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), after inspecting a completed GETFund school block. Madam Rose D. Otchere, Headmistress of the Methodist Primary (A and D) school conducted Mankrado, unit committee members and the GNA around the six classrooms, office and a store block. Vital information and estimate of the building was not readily available. Nana Ansah Kwadwo admonished unit committee members to work assiduously because it formed the basis of the local governance structure and must be strengthened to ensure a solid foundation for the nations democracy. Since the district assembly concept is people centered, the role of the committee is crucial to achieving participatory democracy at the grassroots, he said. The Mankrado noted that the office of unit committees was voluntary and it was imperative for people to appreciate their efforts, in order to whip up interest in district level elections. He lauded the work of the unit committee members in the various communities and appealed to committee members to continue to show patriotism, especially in Topeace.
