NDC Footsoldiers Abduct Chairman?

Some footsoldiers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the weekend abducted the party’s New Juaben North constituency chairman, Owaahene Acheampong and brutally assaulted him over some party cash.

The NDC chair sustain injuries to various parts of his body including his private parts as a result of the beaten from the about 15 known NDC footsoldiers in the constituency who accused him of keeping monies given him for distribution.

Sources close to the chairman told Adomonline.com that he was abducted from his Koforidua Effiduase home at about 8:30 PM on Friday, 16th October, 2015 night by the heavily built footsoldiers who drove in an urvan bus.

The party boys, the source continued ordered him into the awaiting van and drove him to a house near the Adweso SSNIT flats behind the Koforidua stadium where he was interrogated on some cash allegedly brought to him by the Communication Minister, Edward Omane-Boamah.

The said cash offered them by the Minister, the party footsoldiers claimed were meant for their upkeep as persons working for the party but the chairman pocketed it.

Our source continued that, the chairman denied their claims but his explanations were not enough to convince the angry footsoldiers who drove him off.

“However, when they got to the road around Koforidua Poly, they took him out of the van and assaulted him with some even kicking his private parts, in fact he was severely beaten for daring to touch monies meant for the party’s footsoldiers…he even had his right arm twisted as a result,” the source added.

The party chairman who was weakened by the beaten he endured was left to his fate and had to crawl to home and reported the matter to te police.

The injuries notwithstanding, Chairman Owaahene managed to grace the rally organized by the Eastern Regional NDC on Saturday, 17th October, 2015 at the Jackson Park.

The source further said that this is the second time the same crop of angry party boys have attacked the NDC chair; the previous was at an NDC meeting.

The source revealed that, the party chairman despite claiming to have reported the matter to the police have decided to withdraw the case and bring it home for settlement.

This is because certain known regional and national executives of the party have intervened and have called on him to treat the assault case as a party matter.

Owaahene Acheampong confirmed the assault in an interview with Adomonline.com but refused to comment on the matter because of the intervention of the big shots of the party from the regional and national levels.

He however claimed that two of the footsoldiers have also come to apologize but the continuous attacks, Chairman Owaahene said makes him fear for his life.
