'Savelugu MP Is A Liar'- MCE

The Chief Executive of Savelugu-Nanton Municipality and a parliamentary aspirant for the Savelugu constituency has descended heavily on the Member of Parliament of the area, Hajia Mary Buforo taking her to the gutters by uncovering that Hajia Buforo was engaging in "campaign of lies and personal vilification".

Hon. Abdulai Alhassan Red vented his spleen after alleging that the legislator was spreading lies, distortions and misinformation about his dominion as the municipal chief executive, ostensibly to win votes in the forthcoming NDC parliamentary primaries.

He said, the legislator was using some dubious documents to accuse him of mismanagement of the assembly's common fund.

"My campaign has been decent except that some people are going round with a document telling lies to people about how I spend the common fund, I mean the MP is spreading lies about me. I really didn't expect this from her"

Hon. Red in a very loud tone said the actions of Hajia Buforo was undermining the 'good' works of the NDC administration.

He added, telling lies about his administration as the Chief Executive was tantamount to saying the President Mahama led administration was not performing.

"Being a public servant like me under this government, you are undermining the President but then again I see it as making me popular. They can go on with the lies, they can even accuse me with murder"

He said, Hajia Mary's two decades in parliament had been fraught with emptiness of developmental projects. He believes, comparatively, the MP has under-performed and therefore advises the electorates to change her.

"You don't need 20years, I mean if you look at my one and half year stay in this office, I have done a lot; massive development projects. And if you look at what Hon Muntala Ibrahim of Nanton has done in his short term in parliament and look at the MP's 20years (sic) in parliament, I will say she hasn't done much

As we speak, there are only two communities in the Nanton constituency that haven't been connected yet, but there are several communities in the Savelugu constituency that don't know when they will be connected to the national grid"

The MCE cum aspirant advised Hajia Buforo to do civilize politics and eschew the dirty games of politics; the game of wanting to cling on to power by all means.

The MP and the MCE has been on each others neck over the latter's decision to contest for the parliamentary candidature on the ticket of the NDC for the Savelugu constituency.

Hajia Mary Buforo on several occasions had threatened to reveal scandalous documents showing underhand dealings of her main contender; the MCE.

Peacefmonline.com efforts to reach Hajia Mary for response have been unsuccessful.
