Parents advised to invest in their childrens education

Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Nkoranza South District Chief Executive, has urged parents to regard their children as their social security and invest in their education and welfare. He also advised the youth to eschew social vices and take their education seriously to enable them to acquire knowledge and skills that could secure them employment. Mr. Agyekum gave the advice at the close of a five-day annual camp meeting of Nkoranza North and East districts of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church, under the theme Mission of Hope, at Nkoranza. He expressed worry that some people shirked their parental responsibilities and allowed their children to roam the streets and indulge in social vices adding that It is the responsibility of parents to provide the needs of their children who are natural assets from God. Mr. Agyekum advised religious leaders to avoid supporting political parties since any such attitude could result in dividing their congregations. Pastor Benjamin Yaw Barimah of the Nkoranza SDA Church, cautioned the people against activities that could lead to environmental pollution and advised them to keep their surroundings clean. He urged the congregation to let the teachings of the Bible reflect in their daily lives. Pastor Kamamin Amoyaw, former president of Mid-West Ghana Conference of the SDA, announced that the Church would construct a clinic at Nkoranza and appealed to the members to support the initiative.
