Emergency Security Meeting Over Guerilla Training Report

The Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Abdulai Musah, has convened an Emergency Municipal Security meeting to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of reports that large scale guerilla training is being organized for some youth in the volatile Bawku area. Wednesdays edition of the Ghanaian Observer (GO) newspaper has on its front page a report that some unemployed youth are being trained in combat, commando interventions and sabotage tactics by unidentified guerrilla masters. Speaking in an interview with PEACEFM NEWS, Hon Musah expressed surprise at the report, adding that even security operatives in Bawku are uninformed about the issue. The Ghanaian Observer (GO) is telling me something Im not aware of in my municipality. Not even the security operatives are aware of this guerilla training facilitybut it is prudent to investigate (such reports) and know the findings, he stressed. The MCE, who stopped shot at discrediting the story, without established facts pointing to the contrary, rather appealed to the Editor of GO, to assist them by giving out whatever information they might require in getting at the truth. Because Ive not investigated the matter, it wont be fair to discredit the storythose behind it will face the full rigours of the law, he pledged.
