Kwasi Oduro Charged With Crashing SUV Into Bronx Eatery Killing 7-Yr-Old Boy Wants Car Back

A man charged with speeding off after crashing his car into a Bronx fast food joint and killing a child wants prosecutors to return his ride.

Relatives of 7-year-old Ethan Villavicencio, killed in June when Kwasi Oduro’s silver SUV rammed into him after reversing into a Pelham Bay eatery, fumed Thursday after Oduro’s lawyers requested a hearing to get the car back.

“He has no remorse over anything. It’s a kid, 7 years old, who didn’t get to live, but you’re worried about a car?” Ethan’s aunt, Taisha Alameda, 35, said after Oduro, 73, appeared in Bronx Supreme Court.

Oduro’s Mercedes, captured on surveillance video violently backing into a Westchester Ave. restaurant where Ethan was sitting with his family, is being held as evidence. The senior, out on $10,000 bail, faces a felony count of fleeing the scene of a crash. A judge’s decision on whether his lawyers can argue for the car’s return was put off until Dec. 1.

Even if the request is granted, Oduro won’t be allowed behind the wheel anytime soon. His license is suspended pending the outcome of his case.

“He wants his car back, why?” said Ethan’s mom, Natasha, 27. “I just want justice for my son.”
