A member of the ruling NDC’s Communications team in the Eastern region Justice Ampofo has committed suicide. The 39 year old was found hanging on a mango tree at Koforidua Asokore Tuesday dawn evening.

His body was spotted by a team of police personnel on patrol in the area. It is suspected that Mr Ampofo might have killed himself following issues of infidelity concerning his wife. He was reportedly arrested last year after attacking his wife over claims of cheating.

The matter is still pending in court. A picture of the deceased and his wife was found by the lifeless body. The body has been deposited at the St. Josephs Hospital morgue. Justice Ampofo last year allegedly butchered his wife, Emelia Danso, 38, at Akyem-Tafo over suspected infidelity. ASP Yaro, the Effiduase District Police Commander confirmed the incident.
