NPP Is A Spirit...It Shall Never Die - Sammy Awuku

Sammy Awuku has expressed confidence in the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the party structures.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo', Sammy Awuku; the National Youth Organizer of the NPP was optimistic that the party will clinch victory in the 2016 general elections.

According to him, despite the internal wrangling in the party which has seen the NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko suspended indefinitely by the Disciplinary Committee; the NPP still remains strong.

“NPP is a spirit…There’s a spirit behind it like Kotoko and Hearts. These parties; they never die. Such parties because it is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.”

Addressing the internal strife in the NPP, Sammy Awuku cautioned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop inciting the citizenry against the New Patriotic Party.

Juxtaposing the performance of his party against the Mahama administration, he insisted that a fragmented NPP is much better than the NDC's "incompetence".

“They’re only provoking people…But the NPP internal challenges are no excuse for the NDC’s incompetence in government. And for me, I will choose an NPP government any day over the limping government of Mahama and Amissah-Arthur," he said.

To him, Monday, November 7, 2015 elections will be "the mother of all elections" and a battle between "the Ghanaian people on one side, then people with money bags on one side. Those who want change; they outnumber those who don’t.”
