Stop Wasting Everybody's Time, Fix The Challenges Budu Koomson Tells Govt

Former Chief Operations Officer of UT Group, Captain (rtd) Budu Koomson has hit hard at government, describing it as incapable of fixing challenges facing the country.

According to him, although the nation is facing numerous challenges, the John Mahama-led administration is just sitting aloof, unable to solve the critical problems facing the citizens.

Some of the key challenges he cited include the load shedding (dumsor) and severe economic challenges.

Captain (rtd) Budu Koomson, currently a board member at IMANI Centre for Policy and Education and CEO of Nexus, was speaking Monday on Adom FM’s ‘Burning Issues’ programme with Afia Pokua.

“Because the ordinary Ghanaian lacks proper education, every morning the ruling government gives us a dose of another round of anger. [Government] is not confronting the issues. This can be a source of disaster. Ghanaians are gradually getting fed up,” Budu Koomson said.

He adds: “Let’s agree that we have challenges, call a spade a spade and stop mocking around. Stop wasting everybody’s time.”

He predicts that very soon Ghanaians are likely to rise against the government to demand accountability and proper solutions to the challenges confronting them.

According to him, the problems the country is facing now can be blamed on the failure of leaders in government.

Founder and General Overseer of the Father’s House Chapel International, Dr Charles J. Buckman, who was part of the programme, said the country’s leadership must sit up.

“We must look at where we’re coming from and where we want to go as a country and find a lasting solution to our problems,” he recommended to government.

Dr Buckman believes that without a leadership who puts the interest of the people above every other factors, Ghanaians will continue to suffer.
