NPP Eastern Regional Executives Call For Discipline And Respect For NEC Decision

The entire Eastern Regional Leadership of the Party, including the thirty three Constituency Chairmen, are calling on the rank and file members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party to recognize that the DECISION by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party in suspending Mr. Paul Afoko from the position as the National Chairman is binding on all of us and it is indeed our duty as party people to defend it.

The situation where some Party Members are joining the NDC to criticise the Party is a betrayal of the Party and adds to increasing charges of moles in our midst.

It is also equally our DUTY as NPP people to respect the fact that Mr. Paul Afoko, even though his suspension has taken effect, has a RIGHT to appeal against the decision to the National Council. But, in doing so we expect the suspended National Chairman to do what all others before him had done, which is to RESPECT the organs, structures and Constitution of the Party and use same to seek redress first before considering a court option.

We want to see renewed DISCIPLINE and RESPECT returned to the Party now as we organise ourselves to focus on what we are in politics to do, which is to win power and serve the people.

Our cause to remain firm in purpose is also premised on the constitutional provision that every Party Member, per Article 3(D)( iv), is expected to offer total compliance to this provision which imposes a duty on all members to abide by and publicly uphold the decision of the Party.

We wish to remind all that the Party is SUPREME and it is our COLLECTIVE duty to work with the Flagbearer with total LOYALTY and COMMITMENT to the Party and its goal of winning power in 2016.

Thank you.
