Kotoko Earmark $200,000 To Recruit 12 Players

The Porcupine Warriors are hoping to purchase a dozen new players ahead of the 2015 / 2016 season. Asante Kotoko have budgeted $200,000 (GHc800,000) for the recruitment 12 new players ahead of the 2015 / 2016 season, coach David Duncan announced on Tuesday. The decision to reinforce the Porcupine Warriors going into the new campaign was reached by the recruitment team during a meeting on Tuesday. Details of the players or where they would be found were however not revealed by the officials of the Kumasi-based outfit. Kotoko have so far signed goalkeeper Ernest Sowah and defender Samuel Kyere, as they look forward to reproducing their form of 201112, 201213 and 201314 during which they won the Ghana Premier League back to back. The Porcupines leapt to the second spot on the log of the concluded season with 48 points, thanks to the GFA Appeals Committee which upheld the clubs complaint against a decision from the Disciplinary Committee that docked Kotoko six points for allegedly using an unqualified player in a match against archrivals Hearts of Oak.
