Discipline Spurs Businesses To Success-Dogbega

Discipline is crucial to any business development and every other transaction, Rockson Dogbega, an entrepreneur has observed.

He said many promising businesses collapsed because of the lack of one form of restraint or the other.

Mr Dogbega, Founder and Chairman of Berock Ventures Limited (BVL), an indigenous building construction firm in Ghana, was speaking at a business development skills programme in Ho, dubbed “Mentorship for Business Success (MBS).”

The free six months modular programme involved lectures to improve capacities of people starting new businesses as well as businesses on the drawing board.

The programme initiated by Mr Dogbega is christened “guide existing ones, grow young ones and sustain growing ones.

Giving a presentation on the “Concept of Success” at the second session of the training programme, he noted that, companies were not succeeding because they were failing to plan, monitor, evaluate and respect customers.

Mr. Dogbegah, who is the Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Africa, said it appeared the situation of businesses here, (Ghana), lacks good corporate governance, focus, determination, best practices, continuous commitment to improvement and appreciation of the worth of clienteles and excellence, reflected in national affairs.

In the course of the six months, subjects to be treated will include, Understanding the Pillars of Success, Mindset Transformation and Change Leaders: Road Map to Developing the Culture of Success and Corporate Strategy.

The rest are Building Capacity for Sustainable Business Expansion, Business Monitoring and Progress Evaluation and Applying Learning Outcomes.

The mentorship programme is also meant to facilitate networking, mentorship and sharing of experiences and learning from best practices.

Other renowned business leaders in the country will also make presentations at other sessions.

Participants at the programme include Real Estate Developers, Accountants, Farmers, Furniture Makers, Doctors and Journalists, among others.
