CHASS Not Tasked To Analyse SHS Results MoE

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has denied tasking the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) to conduct a three-year analysis of the results of senior high schools (SHSs) across the country.

A statement signed by the Deputy Minister of the Education, Mr Alex Kyeremeh, said: “The ministry wishes to state clearly that Government has not tasked CHASS to conduct any three-year analysis of the results of SHSs throughout the country.”

The statement said “the ministry, therefore, disassociates itself from a news story which was published to that effect by graphiconline” and gave an assurance that it would continue to ensure the regular and adequate supply of teaching and learning materials to all SHSs across the country to guarantee quality education delivery.

Graphiconline and Daily Graphic published a story to the effect that the CHASS had been tasked by the government to conduct a three-year analysis of the results of senior high schools (SHSs) across the country.

The story said the study would enable the MoE to take a decision on whether or not the current three-year duration of the SHS should be reverted to four years or maintained.
