NDC Postpones Presidential And Paliamentary Primaries...

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed its presidential and parliamentary primaries to November 21, 2015.

This follows a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for Monday, November 2 to consider postponing the date due to allegations of bloated register.

The primaries were originally scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 7 across the 275 constituencies.

NDC's Director of Elections Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who confirmed this on Asempa FM Monday, said the postponement is due to the some challenges in the compilation of the final register for the elections.

He indicated that less than 30 constituencies out of the 275 have issues with the voters register which needs to be addressed.

“Biometric registration of members in our party is a novelty so there are a few bottlenecks we need to address” he added.

Ofosu Ampofo who is also the NDC vice chairman said all stakeholders including Members of Parliament Regional and Constituency executives reached a consensus for the primaries to be postponed.
