Mahama Was More Popular In 2012 Than Akufo-Addo... - Kofi Adams

The popularity of the three-time Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo has been described by the National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress as contrived.

Mr Kofi Adams wants the opposition NPP to stop deceiving itself with the self-acclaimed popularity of their Presidential Candidate because he is not a match for the sitting President, John Mahama.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Kofi Adams said the NPP should not blame the defeat of their Presidential Candidate in the 2012 elections on a supposed bloated voters’ register.

The opposition NPP, in their presentation at the EC’s public forum on the current voters’ register, said one of the reasons they suspect the register is bloated is based on the fact that during the 2012 elections results, the Presidential figures exceeded those voters’ register.

To the NPP, the EC’s inability to provide the list of voters overseas when demanded by the Supreme Court convinced the party that the register was bloated.

But Kofi Adams in reaction to this assertion, urged the opposition to admit that public affection for Nana Akufo-Addo is a mirage since President Mahama’s popularity in 2012 won him the elections.

The NPP people know for a fact that President John Dramani Mahama was very popular in the last elections and so that explains why majority of Ghanaians voted for him more than his NDC Parliamentary candidates,” he asserted.
