Fierce Contest In Anlo NDC

The race for the parliamentary ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Anlo has intensified with the inclusion of Mr. Wonder Victor Kutor, the immediate past Deputy Constituency Secretary for Anlo in the Volta Region, who has vowed to unseat the incumbent Clement Kofi Humado, a former Cabinet Minister who is seeking reelection.

After the third candidate, Mr. Sylvester Tonyevah, Municipal Chief Executive for Keta, recently withdrew from the race, rendering it a two-horse race, the two candidates have intensified their campaigns.

Mr. Kutor , a research Assistant at the Ministry of Energy, who says he is determined to lead Anlo to achieve sustainable development, believes he has what it takes to topple Mr. Humado from the seat.

With his experience in the public sector and a former branch organiser at Tegbi Aklamatsi Tovieme and Deputy Constituency Secretary for Anlo, Mr. Kutor indicates that he has a good knowledge about the needs of the area, and would help to effectively address them when he becomes MP.

Prior to declaring his intention to contest the primaries, Mr. Kutor, considered as a grassroot person, had been supportive of the area by donating exercise books to pupils and computers anonymously to schools, and he believes he has the necessary resources to win the race.

But he equally appreciates the huge competition he needs to deal with in order to overcome a heavyweight like Mr Humado, who has been MP since 2004.

Mr. Humado, a former Food and Agriculture Minister, as well as former Minister of Youth and Sports, is deemed the favorite in the race, although observers believe Mr. Kutor could pull a surprise.
