�Wee� Concealed In Second-Hand Clothes Uncovered!

A shop attendant and her assistant have been arrested by the Police in Accra for allegedly trying to transport compressed dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp to Nigeria.

The two: Grace Adaa, 58, and Joseph Jolayemi, 36, were picked up by the SWAT team of the Ghana Police Service after uncovering about 360 parcels of the compressed dry leaves concealed in some 14 bales of second hand cloth from a shop at Tudu.

Briefing the media at the Police Headquarters on Tuesday afternoon, the National SWAT Commander, DSP Bismark Achaab, revealed that the police received information about the attempt to transport some substance suspected to be “wee” to Nigeria.

According to him, police men in plain cloth were deployed to the shop, Grace Pojue Ventures to ascertain for themselves the situation at hand, leading to the arrest of the shop owner and the attendant, together with 14 bales of second- hand cloth.

Upon a thorough search, about 360 parcels of compressed dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were retrieved in the Nigeria bound bales, DSP Achaab added.

Upon interrogation, the Police capo said Grace Adda, confessed to transporting goods for the past 20 years but denied knowledge of the hidden wee.

He advised Ghanaians to volunteer information of such nature to the police to rid the country of narcotics.

The two have however been handed over to the Narcotic team of the Police service to continue with investigations and process the culprits for court.
