16yr-Old School Drop -Out Defiles Girl Twice

A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD defiler, Osei Twum whose bizarre behavior led to his dismissal from the Akyem Afosu Catholic Junior High School (JHS) last year for defiling an eight-year-old girl has once again defiled the same victim in a school toilet.

The then 15-year-old Osei Twum on September 15 last year, was arrested after he was accused of defiling the then eight-year-old victim who happened to be his step father’s daughter in a bush at Akyem Ofosu and sent to the New Abirem Magistrate court.

In that incident, the father of the victim, Yaw Garbrah, during the trial was said to have pleaded with the court to free the accused to enable him (Garbrah) send Twum away from Afosu to his biological father at Mankessim in the Central Region.

The court to the surprise of the police and many agreed to the pleadings of Mr. Garbrah and released the accused to him. The victim, who was seriously injured, had to be taken care of by the mother alone since the father was deeply on the side of Twum his step son.

The headmaster of Afosu Catholic JHS after the acquittal of Twum dismissed him from the school on grounds that he was too dangerous to be with the kids in the school and the fact that the step father told the court he was going to send him away.

However, Mr. Garbrah failed to fulfill his promise to send the boy away leaving him to roam about in the Afosu Township.

On October 19 this year, a little over one year when he defiled the little girl, he allegedly pounced on the same girl who was attending nature’s call at the school’s place of convenience and defiled her again.

The victim reported the matter to the teachers of the school and the mother who made a report to the Afosu Police Station leading to Twum’s arrest.

At his first appearance at the same court last week Wednesday, his plea was not taken and was remanded into police custody to appear again today for the continuation of the case.
