Afoko Is An NDC Mole Planted In The NPP

The Northern regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bugri Naabu has described suspended Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko as an ‘NDC mole’ planted in the NPP by the NDC to destroy its ranks.

The firebrand regional chairman of the party, speaking on Accra-based Rainbow Radio said Paul Afoko was a member of the NDC who only crossed-carpet in 2004 to join the NPP.

“Paul Afoko was an NDC, that is his background and he came to join the party in 2004. He has never held a polling station executive position, neither has he ever held a constituency position or a regional position…,” he said.

The age-long internal wrangling in the NPP was stoked again after the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP suspended the chairman indefinitely a fortnight ago.

A member of the NPP, Oppong Kyekyeku subsequently filed a writ at the court praying it to cause his reinstatement but the writ was thrown out after the court argued that he lacked locus in the case.

The court action was followed by a demonstration by pro-Afoko loyalists at the party’s Asylum Down headquarters demanding his reinstatement.

These actions, Bugri Naabu believes were sponsored by Afoko to further his hidden agenda of disintegrating the NPP and causing Nana Addo to lose the 2016 Elections.

“What he is doing, he wouldn’t have done that. Even if they suspend you…the party has structures, why to court? Now demonstration, is it the best?, is it the best?...so if you want to spoil, to cripple the NPP…,” he said.

But Paul Afoko’s dream of seeing to the disintegration of the NPP, he added, would not see the light of day adding that the party is still formidable to win next year’s elections.

“…NPP is a party which has existed since the colonial era, nobody can spoil it. We are going to win, mark it down. I am saying we will win. 2017 Nana Addo will be sworn in as President of the Republic of Ghana with a Bible while Dr. Bawumia will hold the Quran and be sworn in as the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana,’ he added.’

He further called on the suspended chairman to desist from his evil machinations because it will not wash warning that the NPP will soon suspend more people who are found culpable of any acts that contravene the constitution of the NPP.

“Whether they are people or not, the work is going on. The party has resumed its house cleaning and those  who are not ready to make sure we win power, we will make sure they stay aside so they leave us to work.’’

Bugri Naabu refuted claims that executives from the Northern region joined the demonstration rather he alleged that the demonstrators were bought from the NDC.
