Some NPP Activists Always Finding Means To Cloud Nana Addos Vision - Perry Okudzeto

Deputy Communication Director of the embattled opposition New Patriotic Party, Perry Okudzeto says there are always counter events in the party to divert attention from the activities of the party’s Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo whenever he reveals his vision for Ghana.

According to him, it is quite unfortunate that after Nana Akufo-Addo had spoken to the youth at Legon, outlining his vision for them, the next morning the youth of NPP who claim to have the party at heart and want to work towards winning 2016 election would cloud out what Nana Addo has said about the youth and their future with a demonstration.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Okudzeto wondered why in recent times some people in the NPP have resorted to engaging in counter activities which will diminish the main course of the NPP’s Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo anytime he interacts with Ghanaians.

“It is intriguing that this is what we have resorted to in recent times that anytime Nana Akufo-Addo will speak in public or go on a tour to interact with Ghanaians, instead that we as a party members will amplify the things Nana Addo is saying so that they can vote for us during the 2016 elections, we the same youth of our party are the ones diverting attention from the activities of the Flagbearer…it is worrying”!, he bemoaned.

He however urged all those yearning for the reinstatement of the suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko to follow the party structures as the party is being governed by a constitution which is above every personality in the party.

He emphasized that the NPP’s structures which comprises the Disciplinary Committee, National Executive Committee, the National Council are the bodies which form the Constitution and therefore these bodies are used hand-in-hand to foster progress of the party.

He indicated that the structures of the NPP Constitution stretch to the National, Regional, Constituency and Polling station executives; thus it is incumbent on the members of the party to respect the structures governing the party.

Perry Okudzeto reminded the supporters of suspended Afoko that the former National Chairman of NPP was suspended based on the provision made in the party’s constitution; urging them also to use the appropriate procedure in the constitution to seek redress by appealing to the National Council within 21 days of the suspension.

He insisted the use of the media and the series of demonstrations to drag the name of the party in the mud is not helping but rather things should be done in accordance with the party’s Constitution.

He strongly posited that no name in the New Patriotic Party is supreme than the party itself; stressing that in order to make the party’s name remain supreme, those who have issues with the decision of National Council should appeal to the Council.

He blatantly admitted that the mêlée going on in the New Patriotic Party is not good for the forward movement of the party.
