NPP's Fortune Dwindling; Kufuor Won With Nearly 7 Regions, But...- Mornah

As the New Patriotic Party is hopeful of winning the 2016 election after two unsuccessful attempts, General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah says it is a delusion after President Kufuor for the NPP to come closer or winning political power.

According to Bernard Mornah who is seeking to be the National Chairman of the PNC, evidence abound that the fortunes of the NPP is declining after former President Kufuor won power with nearly 7 regions and now reduced to only 2 unclear strong regions.

After Kufuor, it has been illusive for the NPP to come closer or winning political power and the evidence abound when you look at the declining fortunes of the party after President Kufuor won power with nearly 7 regions... currently the NPP has only 2 regions and even in the 2 regions, their fortunes are declining, he asserted.

Speaking on Okay Fms 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Bernard Mornah said the biggest opposition NPP will have to work harder if they want to win power.

Outliningone of the reasons for the declining fortunes of the NPP, Bernard Mornah attributed it to the roles Nana Akufo-Addo plays in major demonstrations in the country against the government; thus always hiding behind groups likes AFAG and Let My Vote Account Alliance.

He mentioned that some successful opposition leaders like former President John Agyekum Kufuor and the late President Mills maximized their political fortunes after taken center stages in their respective demonstrations.

President Kufuor led several demonstrations in the country. It was not groups that organized those demonstrations; Kufuor led those demonstrations as an opposition leader and called on personalities like; Dr. Edward Mahama, Dan Lartey and many members of the opposition in Ghana. All of them found comfort in demonstrating against the economic situation because the head of the largest opposition in Ghana was leading the demonstrationhe didnt hide behind but took centre stage and accepted responsibility for those demonstrations, he stated.

Do you remember President Mills? He participated fully and led demonstrations with the Committee for Joint Action (CJA). When it comes to our current opposition leader, it is groups like AFAG and others that are organizing the so called opposition work without his actual participation, he added.
