Friends of Spio-Garbrah Salutes President Mahama On His Visit

The leadership and entire membership of the Upper West Regional Branch of the Friends of Spio-Garbrah wish to express our profound thanks and gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for his visit to Wa as part of his nationwide Changing Lives and Transforming Ghana tour.

The people of the Upper West Region have innumerable reasons to celebrate your visit. First, your Government’s rural electrification project saw a chunk of our communities connected to the national grid.

Second, your Government’s policy of bringing primary health care to our citizenry is evident by the construction of the Upper West Regional Hospital at Wa. And thirdly, the Better Ghana Agenda is the reason for which several community senior high schools will be operational in the Region.

Mr. President, among the several, uncountable good decisions you took to overhaul your administration and to bring leadership to the grassroots, one was your bold decision to include our mentor—Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah.

His inclusion further boosted our sense of morale and inherent belongingness to our great NDC Party. Our fervent hope, Mr. President, is that you will make good use of his expertise in the near future by giving him more tasks to handle to fast-track our campaign promises. Spio, as he is fondly known, is the man whose name and actions rhymes with youth in the Northern part of Ghana and across the country.

On behalf of the Friends of Spio-Garbrah, we wish to assure the President that with the strategies thus far unleashed through the initiatives of the group all over the country, we are leaving no stone unturned to canvass votes and to make sure the NDC maintains not only the 100 per cent parliamentary seats but also a record setting victory in the Presidential elections within the Region and beyond.

Our goal is to offer our services to project the good works of the NDC government and to provide you with a comfortable environment for an overwhelming victory in 2016 elections.

The Group will also like to use this opportunity to appeal to the President and the Minister of Roads and Highways to work on our road network for us especially Wa -Tumu Road, Wa- Gwollu Road and others to make transportation easier and more accessible. We also appeal to the IGP to increase the police patrol to the district to reduce crime in the region.
