President John Mahama Urges NDC To Stay United For Electoral Victory

President John Mahama has urged National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain united as a family to win the next general elections. He said the NDC does not only owe Ghanaians to win the election but also has a moral duty towards nation to win the elections.

President John Mahama said he is determined to work assiduously to improve lives of Ghanaians as contained in the party’s manifesto. “Last week I continued my #‎ChangingLives & #‎TransformingGhana Tour. This time, I met with the people of the Upper East region. I pledged to them that my government will continue to work hard to massively improve the quality of the road network in this region, and to build community high schools in every district. I assured them that their region is going to receive a fair share of development, as we work tirelessly to spread development to deprived and needy communities,” he posited on his facebook wall yesterday.

President John Mahama continued, “I also met with fellow-NDC members: I reminded all of them that NDC is a family, and as a family we will organize and support the primaries to be held on November 21. “We have a moral duty towards all Ghanaians to win the next elections. While we keep transforming Ghana, we need to make sure that the benefits of this transformation are widely distributed, especially among the underprivileged. We owe Ghanaians to win this fight,” he noted.

President John Mahama, who took time off during his Upper East regional tour to join the people of Anlo in the Volta Region to celebrate the annual Hogbetsotso festival, asserted he was humbled over the supports he had. “To all the beautiful, hardworking people living everywhere in Ghana: I am honored to be your President! May God bless our Mother Ghana!

#ChangingLives & #TransformingGhana.”

President John Mahama, who is currently in France, condemned the murder of a supporter of the opposition NPP in the Asawase constituency of the Ashanti Region over internal party disagreements. He said the incident was unfortunate, unpardonable and should not be tolerated.

Abubakar Saddiq was part of the angry Akufo-Addo loyalists who locked up the Asawase Constituency office, Thursday in protest over comments made by the Chairman of the Constituency, Isaac Brenya. The deceased and several other supporters had threatened to beat up Mr Brenya for supporting the suspended National Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko and for making comments they thought was derogatory to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He was said to have gone to the constituency office on hearing the office had been ransacked Friday morning but was attacked and murdered by unknown assailants. President John Mahama said he has directed the police to do all they can to bring the perpetrators to book. “These things that are happening – acid bath – is wrong and recently another supporter was stabbed. It is not acceptable and I have asked the police to investigate, find those who did it and bring them to book.

“There is no place in our politics for this kind of violence. No amount of political power is worth shedding a drop of blood of any Ghanaian. Politics is not a life and death struggle, politics is live and let live”, he added.
