Mario Balotelli has posed with a new set of colourful football boots on social media and declared he can't wait to get back on the pitch and scoring goals with his new 'cartoon' boots'.

The AC Milan striker admitted that these are now among his favourites.

The colourful boots have orange laces and are predominantly white, but with striking splashes of blue, orange and yellow include a comic-book 'Pow!' inscription on the instep. On the heel of the boot is inscribed 'Bam!' as the former Manchester City and Inter Milan striker harks back to the vintage Batman comic books.

On the outside of the colourful boots is a tribute to the Italian's late adopted father, Franco Balotelli.

Alongside an Italian flag is a stitching of his first name, Franco.
