Mahama Ladies Declare 100% For Mahama

The Chairperson of ‘Mahama Ladies’, Hajia Tawa Zakaria-Raji has urged members of the ruling National Democratic Congress to reward President John Dramani Mahama’s for his good works with a 100 percent endorsement in the November 21 presidential primaries.

According to the leader of the pro-government women’s group, Ghanaians, especially members of the NDC, have every reason to support the president to seek re-election in 2016, insisting “he is on track and has so far rolled out numerous projects that have impacted positively on the lives of Ghanaians.”

Speaking to The aL-hAJJ on the sidelines of a door-to-door campaign to whip support for the President in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Hajia Zakari-Raji explained that, her group was rooting for President Mahama to contest the next election based on his transformational agenda which she claimed is impacting positively in all sectors of the nation’s economy.

“It is for this reason that His Excellency is going unopposed. We are confident that he will get the endorsement of members of the NDC but what we are interested in is to reward the president with a 100 percent endorsement nationwide for his good works. We did it for the president in the 2012 election and we are poised to repeat it again,” she assured.

Despite all the challenges that have bedeviled the Mahama government, Hajia Tawa noted, “NDC government under His Excellency’s stewardship has made giant strides in all sectors of the nation’s economy within a short time in office.”

She further stated, “When one is doing well, it behooves on citizens to support him to encourage him to continue with the good works which is exactly what we are doing. The President needs an overwhelming endorsement of NDC members to demonstrate to even, the virulent critics that we (NDC) are united behind His Excellency and ready to work in unison for his re-election in 2016.”

Hajia Zakari-Raji said the group has been touring the various constituencies in the country “to sell the good works of the President and government and why they must give him (President) the 100 percent endorsement we have been calling for.”

“It has not been easy but so far we have toured a lot of the constituencies. Because we have our membership in almost all the constituencies, each of our constituency branches has taken it upon themselves to solicit support for His Excellency,” she stated.
“We encourage every registered member of the NDC to endorse President Mahama come November 21”, Hajia Tawa pleaded.

The ruling party was expected to hold the primaries on Saturday, November 7, but the party postponed it to November 21 after the National Executive met to assess challenges with vetting, printing of ballots and other preparations that needed to be addressed before the election.

President Mahama is running unopposed in the presidential primary and is expected to receive an overwhelming endorsement after a successful vetting.
