A taxi driver is currently in the grip of the police after stabbing a female student of the University of Professional Studies, Accra [UPSA] to death Thursday morning.

The driver [name withheld] who attempted suicide after killing the girl believed to be his girlfriend [Jennifer Attieku] will be transported from Alfa Hospital in Madina to the Police Hospital under heavy security – a source told Peacefmonline.com.

An eyewitness says the driver who felt cheated by the deceased stabbed her several times in the neck and in the chest killing her instantly.

Medical Administrator of the Pentecost Hospital, Dr. Godwin Attoh, who also confirmed the tragic incident, said the student and another young man believed to be a taxi driver were brought to the hospital early Thursday morning with stab wounds.

The body of the level 300 Banking and Finance student has been sent to the morgue whiles the driver who failed the attempt suicide is responding to treatment.

Friends close to the lovers told Peacefmonline.com that – the driver for the past years has spent "much money" on the lady but was unfortunate their love story ended in “horror”.
