Martin Amidu Is Engaging In A "Fruitless Search For Relevance" - Atik Mohammed

Atik Mohammed has dismissed allegations leveled against Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his investigative team, Tiger Eye, by the former Attorney General Martin Amidu.

Contributing to Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Atik Mohammed described Mr. Amidu's quest for justification in his claims on Anas' judicial corruption scandal exposé as a "fruitless search for relevance."

According to him, Mr. Amidu has failed to catch the eye of the media over the years and so, using Anas' undercover investigation for media hype.

I think this is a fruitless search for relevance. I cannot fathom the basis for the issues raised. I mean what is the objective? What exactly is he seeking? I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Martin Amidu but now he telling us to accept his definition of who Anas is…Let’s even grant that the government indeed contracted him and so what?

The PNC Policy Analyst therefore urged the nation not to digress into irrelevant issues when there are several challenges gradually crippling the economy.

There are fundamental problems confronting us but today, we’re forced by reason of the latest development to discuss Mr. Martin Amidu. Let’s even grant him all his claims and so, what does he seek to achieve at the end of the day. What purpose will it serve...What benefit will inure to Ghanaians?

Atik Mohammed appealed to Mr. Amidu not to rubbish the efforts by Anas and his Tiger Eye PI to unearth the rot in Ghana's judicial system.

I think the least we can do for this young man (Anas) is to commend him…Let’s not destroy people in our pursuit for relevance. We should motivate people. Let’s not discourage people. I don’t think this should be about who is a true or pure anti-corruption crusader and who is a defiled one," he told Kwami Sefa Kayi.
