Afoko Suspended Indefinitely Till After 2016 Elections...NPP NC Rules

Paul Afoko remains suspended indefinitely till after the 2016 general elections; according to the National Council (NC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Following a meeting on Thursday, the opposition party's second highest decision making body ruled against the party's suspended National Chairman, thus affirming an earlier NEC acceptance of the NPP's Disciplinary Committee (DC) ruling a couple of weeks ago.

The Council turned down a letter Paul Afoko wrote to them (NC) seeking a revocation of the decision by the Disciplinary Committee to suspend him.

The decision was announced to journalists by the party’s General Secretary, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong, a perceived Afoko supporter, after the matter was put to a vote.

Out of 77 people, 70 voted for the suspension to be upheld, six abstained from voting, while one voted for.

Present at the meeting were the Ex-President John Agyekum Kufour, NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo among others.
