Trader Nabbed With 81 Wrappers Of Wee Remanded

Abena Juliet a trader at Kwame Nkrumah Circle who was nabbed with 81 wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp has been put before an Accra Circuit Court.

Juliet, charged with possessing narcotic drugs, she pleaded not guilty.

The court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh remanded her into lawful custody to reappear on November 25.

Prosecuting Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Duuti Tuaruka said the complainants in the matter are Policemen.

According to the prosecutor, Juliet resides at CP area, near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and sells assorted drinks.

Mr Tuaruka said on November 6, this year the complainants were going to work when they spotted Juliet with wraps of dried leaves.

The Police Officers confronted her and after a search, 81 wrappers of dried leaves were found concealed in a plastic container.

Prosecution said the exhibits are being forwarded to the Ghana Police Forensic Laboratory for analytical examination.
