Northern Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bugri Naabu says northerners are ready to show President John Mahama the exit for failing to deliver after reposing so much confidence in him.

According to him, people of northern descent when in government are incorruptible, truthful and have the interest of Ghana at heart; thus this admirable trait has been dented by President John Dramani Mahama.

The NPP Chairman was reacting to the President’s call on his tribesmen to vote massively for him in the 2016 general elections.

Deputy Minister of Energy, John Jinapor buttressing the point of President Mahama in Tamale announced that the NDC is embarking on “operation capturing all seats in the northern regions”.

President Mahama, while addressing party members during his Changing Lives and Transforming Ghana tour in the Northern region last week urged them to retain him because he is one of them.

But in an apparent response to the President and John Jinapor, Bugri Naabu on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show said they won’t support any individual or group of people to milk Ghana dry.

He emphatically stated that the NDC will struggle to capture even one seat out of the 31 constituencies after inflicting untoward hardships on people the president claims to relate to and Ghanaians at large.

“You are president of Ghana but he is only been seen indulging in profligate expenditure; there is no job for the youth and contractors cannot be paid...the work of farmers is at standstill because there is no money to buy farm inputs…Northerners are even crying more than any tribe in Ghana and then you claim to be our brother”, he jabbed.

“What has John Mahama done for northerners? We have suffered and are still suffering under the government of someone who claims to be one of us. Even though Mahama is a northerner, everybody has seen that he has disgraced Northerners,” he fumed.

Buttressing his point, the outspoken NPP Chairman cited how government appointees in charge of Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) created, looted and shared monies meant to develop the area.

“We are mad about his administration; apart from corruption and create, loot and share, what has Mahama done for northerners?” he rhetorically asked.

Bugri Naabu said the “corrupt nature” of President Mahama has destroyed the chances of any one of northern descent who hopes to ascend the high office of President.

He reiterated that the likes of the late President Hilla Limann of PNC and the late Vice President Aliu Mahama of NPP brought honor to northerners but the same cannot be said of President John Dramani Mahama after getting the opportunity to serve Ghana following the unfortunate death of President Mills.

He asserted that every project Mahama claims to have done in the Northern regions was initiated by former President Kufuor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
