Statement: NPP Members Petition Leadership Over Conduct Of Manhyia North MP
The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa should prepare to brace himself for the fight ahead. Some members of his own party have petitioned the National Executives of the New Party to deal with the legislator for exhibiting traits that could hinder the progress of the party in future.
A member of the group, by name Daniel Marfo spoke to Okay FM this morning and catalogued points which serve as a guide for the executives to study before punishing the MP.

Following our peaceful demonstration this morning against the conduct of Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa, the NPP Member of Parliament for Manhyia North Constituency, We hereby officially present our petition in relation to the following grounds, among others.
1.DISLIKE FOR NANA AKUFO-ADDO:
We have observed over the years that Hon.Collins Owusu Amankwaa has a great dislike for Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and would not like to see Nana Addo as President of the Republic of Ghana.
For example, sometime in June,2010 when Nana Addo was addressing delegates of the then Manhyia Constituency at Jofel, Hon. Collins Owusu Mankwaa, then the constituency Youth Organizer went behind everybody and disconnected the generator that was providing electric power for the occasion.
In October,2014,Hon Collins Owusu Amankwaa though the Member of Parliament, openly campaigned against Nana Addo and said very derogatory and unprintable things about him in Manhyia North during the Presidential primaries to elect a flag bearer for the N.P.P.
In recent times he is not in good terms with all those perceived to be Nana Addo’s supporters in the constituency. For example, he does not see an eye with his own constituency chairman, 1st Vice Chairman,2nd Vice Chairman, Organizer among others.
2.INSULTS AGAINST LAWYER NANA OBIRI BOAHENE:
About 3 weeks ago we heard Hon Collins Owusu Amankwaa on Asempa Radio raining a hell of insults on a National Executive Officer of the Party. He said Lawyer Nana Obirir Boahene was a useless General Secretary who is only concerned about his personal and parochial gains.
3.’MATCHOISM’:
Hon.Collins Owusus Amankwaa would always resort to ‘matchoism’ to crush any N.P.P groupings that he perceives to be enemies. On several occasions it would take the timely intervention of the police to restore order whilst the party’s activity to promote N.P.P into winning power is always brought to an abrupt end.
For example about 2 weeks ago when many supporters had gathered at Moshie Zongo to whip up support for the N.P.P party,Hon Collins Owusu Amankwaa sent in over 20 matchomen to disrupt and disperse the teeming Nana Addo and N.P.P supporters. A supporter, Isaac Boakye, sustained injuries from broken bottles. But for timely intervention of the Tafo/Pankrono Police,it might have been the first “ASAWASI” episode.
4.40 BICYCLES:
The party provided the Manhyia North Constituency with 40 bicycles to help in the 2012 general elections to bring Nana Addo to power. To date not a single bicycle has been released to any party official to help promote activities to booster the fortunes of the party in the Constituency.
5.HEALTH INSURANCE:
In July 2013, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa organized the aged ostensibly to get them registered on the health insurance scheme. Till date, over 900 old men and women who were supposedly registered have not received any I.D cards. Investigations have revealed that Hon.Collins Owusu Amankwaa has reneged on his promise to pay for them.
6.THREATS:
Hon.Collins Owusu Amankwaa has been issuing treats to deal ruthlessly with any perceived “enemy”. His own 1st Vice Chairman, Baffour Asare and Organizer, Alhaji Abdul Mumuni Castro have even lodged a complaint of this nature to the Tafo/Pankrono police against him.
All these among others have brought the party into disrepute and affected the fortunes of the party. It is now a common knowledge that Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwaa has lost touch with the grassroots. The N.P.P party will suffer a great loss if Hon.Collins Owusu Amankwaa is forced on the Manhyia North Constituency. We say NO to him.
Please, do well to use your good offices to look into these and bring him to order so as to save the N.P.P for us.
