Prez Mahama Questions The Usefulness Of NPP MPs...

President Mahama is questioning the usefulness of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament in the legislature.

He could not fathom why they keep asking what his government has done with the numerous loans when they [MPs] approve them.

“They say this government has borrowed a lot of money and they don’t know what we have done with the money. Then it means they are sleeping in Parliament” he told teeming supports at Ho in the Volta region.

President Mahama explained that before government takes a loan agreement to Parliament, the MPs are briefed on what it is going to be used for therefore the NPP MPs are just being disingenuous for accusing government of wasting the monies.

“In the approval, you have to write everything you are going to use the money for so if you are the same people approving the loans for us in Parliament and you say you don’t know what we are doing with it, then you don’t deserve to be in Parliament” he fumed.

This notwithstanding, President Mahama said he is not surprised at the conduct of the MPs since it is part of the “misinformation” to confuse the citizenry.
