Auntie B Is Not A Member of NPP! Ghanaians Told To Discard Derogatory Audio Tape- NPP UK

Members of the New Patriotic Party in the United Kingdom, have denied and dissociated themselves from an audio recording alleged to have been composed by a member of the party by name Auntie B. The unknown woman fired salvos at ex-president Kufour and other leading members of the NPP blaming them for sabotaging the presidency ambition of Nana Akufo Addo.

The tape which has since gone viral, empowered President Mahama to take a swipe at his opponent on a campaign platform by declaring such “uncultured” behaviour is “unacceptable” in Ghana.

He went further to state that “I’m not surprised.  If you see what your enemy will do to themselves, then you can guess what they’ll do to you when they get you”.

But executives of the NPP in UK where the audio is believed to have emanated from, denied knowing ‘Auntie B’. In a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, the communication wing of the party made it clear that “the broadcasting laws in the United Kingdom do not permit any form of incitement to injure, threaten or character assassinate any individual".

Below Is A copy of the statement

Our attention has been drawn by numerous well-wishers and well-meaning Ghanaians  top an audio tape making the rounds on social media and broadcast on air on certain media houses in UK and Ghana of the voice purported to be that of a certain Auntie B making threats ,hurling abuse and threatening former President Kufuor and other leaders.

We totally condemn this audio tape and totally disassociate ourselves from it and its contents. This kind of outrageous and despicable behaviour has no place in politics!

We state categorically the said individual is not a member of our branch party.

Our branch party members have committed themselves fully to our flagbearer’s Nana Akufo Addo’s advice issued some weeks ago to all party members not to discuss the party’s affairs on radio and also refrain from doing anything to bring the party’s name into disrepute.

The broadcasting laws in the United Kingdom do not permit any form of incitement to injure, threaten or character assassinate any individual. These are crimes punishable under the penal code. No one can hide under freedom of speech here in the UK to do this.

In order to protect not only our members but also the reputation of our leaders, we will consider seeking the support of the law enforcement agencies in tracking and bringing culprits to book.

Once again we call for calm, cooperation, restraint, discipline, focus and hard work in our journey towards winning the election next year with Nana Akufo –Addo and Dr Bawumia our winning team and forming the next government.
