NPP Turning Into A "Terrorist Organization" if,... - Govt's Comms Team Member

A Member of the Government's Communications Team has questioned the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP's) Flagbearer Nana Addo's competence in the wake of recurring political clashes at the party's headquarters.

Speaking on Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Anim Piesie juxtaposed Nana Addo's competence with President John Mahama's and believed the NPP under the leadership of Nana Addo has failed to be accommodative.

He alluded to the Monday incident at the NPP headquarters where armed military personnel ransacked the headquarters retrieving weapons.

Armed men in military officers reportedly stormed the NPP's Headquarters at 1am Monday and ransacked all offices in the building. According to reports, some six military men stormed the offices at dawn on Monday to search the offices and locked up the security officers and searched some offices.

Acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay later told the media that security men who were at the premises during the time of the incident believed the perceived military men were searching for something they could not point out.

“Later [after the perceived military men stormed the headquarters], there was a bus load of young men and one woman with shirts ‘unity and peace’ inscriptions and NPP logo. They were allowed to go upstairs by the uniformed [Military] men,” he added.

According to him, 11 of those who came in a bus have been arrested and are currently at the police headquarters in Accra, assisting with investigations, but the men who were in military uniforms are yet to be identified.

Commenting on the incident, Bernard Anim-Piesie opined held that the opposition party is gradually manifesting itself as a "terrorist organization."

If someone says NPP as a political party is turning into a terrorist organization, would the person be right or wrong?

If you juxtapose the competence of President Mahama as leader of NDC and Nana Addo as leader and flagbearer of NPP, where will your competence lie? Who is competent? Because the NPP is a small party but the party is not accommodative. They (NPP) can’t have the heart to tolerate people’s opinions," he said.
