President Mahama has been advised by a renowned Economic lecturer and Business Consultant, Mr. Kusi Boafo to consider economic mogul Dr. Kwesi Botchwey for the position of the NDC Running Mate for the 2016 elections if he (Mahama) intends to change his Vice President, Mr. Amissah-Arthur.

According to the Economist, the best choice in the ruling NDC to replace Amissah-Arthur for the Running Mate position is Dr. Kwesi Botchwey due to his rich knowledge of the economy and per his current position in the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).

Substantiating his choice in the former Finance Minister, the economic lecturer on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show averred the economic magnate has been dealing with the IMF for a long time and has also gone through several processes including academia pedigree.

To him, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey is only the personality who matches with Dr. Bawumia in terms of the economic prowess and even ahead of the NPP’s 2016 Running Mate in terms of practical experience in the economy.

Disagreeing sharply with the names which have come up as possibly substitutes, Mr. Boafo said the likes of Hannah Tetteh, Doe Adjaho and Spio-Garbrah have not performed extra-ordinarily which surpasses that of Amissah-Arthur in their respective positions in government.

He however insisted Dr. Botchwey has not committed himself in so many ways, making him command respect across the political devices and many shower him with the respect as elderly in the NDC.

“If they want to change the Vice President, then he should be replaced with Kwesi Botchwey, though I will not recommend for Amissah-Arthur to be changed. Kwesi Botchwey stands tall in all the people mentioned for the Running Mate position,” he stated.

“He commands respect, and if he heads the economic management team, they will work with his advises and able to link the central bank and the ministry of finance; he has credibility ahead of the other names which have come up for the position. Kwesi Botchwey has not meddled in anything which could lead to some adjudging him wrongly,” he stressed.
