I Will Arrest Any Musician That Smokes Wee SP Kofi Sarpong

Police officer cum musician, SP Kofi Sarpong has told Kwame Dadzie in an interview on Care TV’s Gospel Countdown that he would not spare any of his colleague musicians if he finds them smoking or possessing marijuana.

During the interview, host Kwame Dadzie asked him what he would do if he went to an event and at the backstage found out that some of his colleague musicians were smoking weed. The host asked the question on the premise that some musicians smoke at backstage while they await their turn to perform.

“There are laws in this country and aside the fact that I am a musician, I am a police man. I need to help enforce the laws of the country. So, if I encounter such situation, I would arrest the person. Honestly, I will,” he said. “And I even don’t think any artiste be it secular or gospel would even try to smoke an illegal substance in my presence,” he quipped.

SP Kofi Sarpong whose latest album I Believe is doing so well on the music market also said that he is a great actor – he used to perform at church when there were plays, and that he would surprise people should any movie producer hire him to play a role in any movie.

“I have not made up my mind yet to go into acting but if the opportunity comes, I can deliver. I used to act during church drama programmes so it won’t be difficult for me if it happens,” he said. Currently, Kofi Sarpong’s Hour by Hour which was written and featured on by Joyce Blessing is enjoying massive airplay on radio and TV. Last week it was number 3 on Care TV’s Gospel Countdown.
