NDC Is Satisfied With Zanetors Membership

National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described as ‘useless’, a move to determine the eligibility of the newly elected parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korley constituency, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings.

Kofi Adams said a person can automatically qualify to be a member of the party if they hold a manual membership card and regular payment of dues which he believes the daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings has and is thus qualified.

Speaking at the back of calls made by private legal practitioner, Gary Nimako to the Electoral Commission seeking to find out if Dr Zanetor Rawlings is a legitimate registered voter in Ghana, Mr. Adams said the move is a ‘useless’ agenda to divert unnecessary attention.

Lawyer Gary Nimako is requesting the EC to make public information on when the name of Dr. Rawlings was entered in Ghana’s electoral roll, if indeed she is a registered voter.

There are claims that Zanetor is not a registered voter in the country. Electoral officials failed to identify her name in the just ended parliamentary primaries of the ruling party. Mr Nimako requested the EC to furnish him with the certified copy of the register which contains the details of the NDC candidate.

But the national organizer of the NDC on an Accra based radio station insists the NDC is satisfied with Zanetor’s membership, adding that the NDC is focused on winning the 2016 elections and therefore will not allow what he describes as ‘petty issues’ to distract the party’s objective.

“Zanetor won the election hands down and therefore those who failed should accept it and stop wasting their time and resources. The NDC is not noted for rabbit hunting, we hunt for elephants” he stated.
