NPP Can Do Their Worse By Sacking MeWhat Benefit Do I Get From The Party? - Afokos Aide

Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei, spokesperson for Suspended New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, Paul Afoko, has been suspended indefinitely by the party in the Ashanti Region for allegedly sponsoring some people to demonstrate against the NPP’s decision to suspend his boss.

Scores of NPP members, who were summoned before the party’s Disciplinary Committee (DC) in the Ashanti Region over the Accra demonstration, alleged that Nana Yaw Osei sponsored their trip.

Based on their confessions, the Regional Executive Committee of the NPP during a meeting in Kumasi on Saturday evoked Article (3FI) of the party’s Constitution to suspend Nana Yaw Osei indefinitely, pending further decision by the National Disciplinary Committee.

But Nana Yaw Osei on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show fired salvo saying the action of the Ashanti Regional Executive Committee is shameful as they don’t have any locus to suspend him as being a member of National Disciplinary Committee of the party.

He stated emphatically that he is not bothered about his suspension from the NPP as he does not see how this suspension will affect him; quizzing “what do I benefit from the NPP? They can do their worse”, he chided.

If it is this party which is giving me food, I would have been worried by the suspension but with this one, I don’t care; they don’t know what they are doing…this suspension will not affect me in any way. The allegation upon which they have suspended me is not true”, he stated.

“Whatever benefits that the suspension will do for those who carried it out, they should continue. I was expecting them to do their worse by sacking me; I would have been happy if they think this suspension will have any effect on me”, he jabbed.

To him, the action of the NPP Ashanti Regional Executive Committee does not surprise him as things in the party have gone out of control making everybody to carry out their own plans without proper procedure.

He described his suspension as shameful as he was given the opportunity to defend himself in the allegation level against him; stressing it was wrong for the Regional Executive Committee to suspend him on the basis of confessions.
