Executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region are in a tug of war with the regional chairman Daniel Bugri Naabu over his decision to summarily ace out Hajia Zulfawu as the deputy women organizer of the party.
Pressure from all regional executives are mounted on the embattled chairman to rescind his decision
It would be recalled that the regional chairman Bugri Naabu issued a press release earlier this month announcing the dismissal of Hajia Zulfawu
According to the release she was dismissed for non-performance even though information available indicates contrary
Over the weekend the chairman in his own capacity went ahead appointed and subsequently sworn in a certain Hajia Safia Mohammed as the successor of Hajia Zulfawu
Chairman Bugri in his swearing in ceremony was reported to have cautioned the newly sworn in executive to pay allegiance to only the flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the regional chairman and her immediate boss the Regional Women's Organizer Hajia Amama
His action has caused a sharp division among the executives as they challenged the legal right of the chairman to take such a decision
According to them, Mr. Bugri Naabu failed to argue them out when they met to discuss the issue of whether to dismiss Hajia Zulfawu
"When we met about this issue, the Women organizer, Nasara coordinator, Secretary and his deputy, Communication director ,Organizer and youth organizer and all the executives we told the chairman that we were going to refer the matter to the disciplinary committee and that was the agreement, We never agreed to the suspension or dismissal"
As far as executive of the party in the region is concern, the dismissal of Hajia Zulfawu as the deputy women organizer is illegal and thus cannot hold
They believe the regional chairman cannot take a unilateral decision in a matter as this. So while Mr. Bugri Naabu sees Hajia Safia as the deputy women organizer of the party, other executives still hold Hajia Zulfawu as the constitutionally appointed executive of the party
By all accounts the party in the region is at it verge of disarray due to the all round carelessness, indecisiveness and alarmist decisions by the regional chairman
When Peacefmonline.com contacted Hajia Zulfawu she refused comment
Meanwhile, the regional chairman in defence dared any executive to come out to deny ever not agreeing to the decision
"Who and who said they are not aware? Let them come out, if they are not aware, they would never be aware. It is our decision. I don't want to be talking about Hajia Zulfawu issue. I gave her the letter she refused I gave it to someone and she took it so that's all" Bugri Naabu thundered.
