"I Love President Mahama" - Kennedy Agyapong

Acerbic tongue New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong says he has soft spot for affable and genteel Northern-born-President John Dramani Mahama, hence his decision never to attack his person.

According to the self-acclaimed NPP financier, even though he does not share the same political ideology with the President, he nevertheless, has been treating him with ‘kid gloves’ over the years because of the natural affinity between them.

Speaking on Oman Fm’s Boiling Point, a program purposely designed for NPP activists to tongue lash members of the ruling party, Kennedy Agyapong, who has insulted almost everybody in the country except himself, described President Mahama as a “nice man” who he is naturally “in love” with.

While his colleague NPP panelists took turns to lambast the president, calling him names, Kennedy Agyapong said he will not attack the president’s persona, insisting that “he is a pleasant guy.”

“I just love President Mahama naturally …he is such a pleasant guy, me, that is why I don’t want to attack him”, Agyapong told host of the program, Kwabena Kwakye, to the bemusement of his fellow NPP panelists.

The Assin Central MP is one of the virulent critics of the NDC government and has at the least opportunity verbally assaulted leading members of the governing party and key functionaries of government.

He is noted for insulting not only his political opponents but, even leading members of his own party, including former President Kufuor, Kwadwo Mpiani, Dr Richard Anane, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe among others.

Despite the constant harsh attacks on President Mahama and deliberate falsehoods by members of the NPP to paint him black, Kennedy Agyapong has not hidden his admiration for the President. He has consistently revealed how he admired the president from his days as MP for Bole-Bamboi.

Early this year, the foul-mouth MP revealed how he used to admire the president’s dressing when he was with him in Ghana parliament.

“He [Mahama] is a nice guy, very nice guy. I admired him when he was in Parliament; he dressed to kill. So I asked him: Mr President these days you don’t dress well and he said; Ken this job you can’t go and dress everyday like that,” the Assin Central MP told Bola Ray on Starr Chat.
