Dr. Zenators Mle Is Sheer Hatred By Some Losers In NDC - NDC Regional Organizer

The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu has attributed the mêlée surrounding Dr. Zenator Rawlings’s Parliamentary candidature to sheer hatred by the losers in the Klottey Korle NDC Primaries.

According to him, those who hated her started the controversy surrounding her membership to the umbrella fraternity and she was later cleared before her resounding victory in the Parliamentary primaries.

Four members of the party- two each from Osu and Asylum Down in the Klottey Korle constituency- are challenging the eligibility of Dr. Zenator Agyeman-Rawlings, who won during the party’s primary in the area, beating the incumbent and former Minister of Employment, Ishmael Nii Armah Ashietey.

The four- Joseph Narku Botchway and Rev. Michael Kwabena Nii Adjei Sowah, all of Osu as well as Jacob Amin and Alhaji Mohammed Mahmud, from Asylum Down- have petitioned the party’s leadership to disqualify Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings or they will ‘advise themselves’.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Anthony Nukpenu said those going to court to challenge Dr. Zenator’s victory for the fact that she is not a registered voter in Ghana does not contradict the NDC’s constitution.

He explained that once Dr. Zenator Rawlings is a registered member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and pays her dues, nobody can stop her from contesting internally because it does not bother on the state constitution.

“This is sheer hatred for the woman; some people who lost in the Parliamentary primaries are behind this commotion but they are just wasting their time. They should come on board and rally behind Dr. Zenator because the primaries are over,” he charged.

Anthony Nukpenu reminded that Dr. Zenator Rawlings was voted for by the NDC members and not selected by some NDC elders; thus, she will be eligible to vote when the Electoral Commission opens up for fresh registration.
