Faith & Move Organization To The Rescue As Residents Cry For A Decent Toilet

The use of pan or bucket latrines has been globally declared as unsafe; but a report from the Ghana Statistical Service proves that the use of the facility is on the rise in the country.

The Supreme Court of the land, seven years ago, banned the use of pan latrines in Accra. However, some residents at Tetegu, a suburb in Accra continue to use the banned structure whenever nature calls.

The dilapidated facility now poses as threat to residents who use it and has contributed to the spread of cholera in the area.

Some residents in the area spoke to Peacefmonline.com about the struggle they have been going through for years to get a decent place to ease themselves.

According to them, despite the ban of pan latrines in the country, they have had troubles saving money and buying materials for the construction of decent toilet facility.

Their plea has fallen on the ears of Faith and Move Organization, an NGO group determined to help the community get a decent restroom.

Deacon Denis Larbi, an executive of the group in an interview with Peacefmonline.com disclosed that Faith and Move Organization would go all length to ensure a new toilet facility is constructed in the area. They called on all willing to assist them in the construction of the facility to come on board and help them in their latest expedition.
