A NEW GROUP pledging to campaign massively for the 2016 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akuffo-Addo to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been launched.

The group, calling itself Ambassadors For Nana Addo (AFONA – 2016), seeks to among others, collaborate with national, regional and constituency executives of the NPP to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016.

To achieve this objective, AFONA intends to sell the party’s campaign message to commercial drivers, traders and the youth across all corners of the country.

AFONA with Joseph Otoo as Coordinating Secretary, Obeng Ofosu, Coordinator and Osei Puni, Coordinator, among others, also intend to serve as polling agents at all polling stations during the 2016 elections.

The Coordinating Secretary Joseph Otoo, in a statement expressed the belief that a government presided over by Nana Addo was needed to revive the ailing economy of Ghana.

According to him, “…we believe there is going to be a turning point in the lives of Ghanaians, especially the youth under Nana Addo from January 2017.”

However, he cautioned the leadership of the NPP to desist from the current internal wrangling that continues to thwart the efforts of the party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo.

He emphasized, “as we encourage the flagbearer to name his campaign team for the 2016 elections, we want to sound a word of caution to the ‘Sanballats’, ‘Tobiahs’ and ‘Geshems’ within NPP who want to thwart the effort of Nana Addo to repent.”

According to him, Ghanaians are wailing and gnashing their teeth under the incompetence of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) seven year rule under the watch of President John Mahama.

The abysmal performance of the NDC, he believed, provides an opportunity for the NPP to sell its story to Ghanaians ahead of 2016, saying “therefore, we have the opportunity to tell our story to the electorate that, it takes people with vision, competence and commitment to develop a country.”
