Ex President Kufour To Coach NPP Campaign Team

Ex President John Agyekum Kuffour will play an active role in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Flag bearer Nana Akufo Addo’s campaign team for the 2016 general elections, the party has revealed.

According to the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Boahene, former President Kufour on whose achievement the NPP is expected to campaign during next year’s polls, will among other roles be the one to have the final say whenever there is disagreement on any matter during the campaign.

“For instance when Dan Botwe says the team must go in a car to a town to campaign and Boakye Agyarko thinks they must rather use motorbikes and there is litigation, the issue will be brought before ex President Kufour, whatever he says will be final.”
The National Council of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appointed a former Chairman of the elephant family, Peter Mac Manu, to front the party’s campaign team towards it bid for power in the 2016 elections. This was after the party’s National Executive Committee meeting held on Wednesday.

The Okere legislator and former General Secretary Dan Botwe, also made the list.

Former Chief Executive of Data Bank, Ken Ofori Atta will lead the logistics team with support from party stalwart, Boakye Agyarko. The team will be out-doored Saturday December, 19 at the party’s upcoming conference in Sunyani.

The rest are Boakye Agyarko, Ken Ofori Atta, John Boadu, all the 10 Regional Chairpersons, constituency executive members and Regional executive members. The team also has the power to co-opt other members.

Speaking on Kasapa FM, Thursday, Nana Obiri Boahene stated that the role assigned to ex President Kufour will allow Nana Akufo Addo the free mind to focus and execute a vigorous campaign to ensure his victory.

He expressed confidence that ex President Kufour will bring his experience to bear on NPP’s campaign to make Nana Akufo Addo President.
