NPP Warns Saboteurs Ahead Of Delegates Confab

As the main opposition New Patriotic Party readies to converge at the Sunyani Coronation Park in the Brong Ahafo Region for its mammoth conference that would rekindle the fire in the party, where the inscrutable campaign team for victory 2016 would be announced, the Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the party, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, has warned trouble makers guising themselves as NPP supporters, to better not show up, as security arrangements put in place would flash out any saboteurs.

“There are some people who may come in our party politics with the intention to demonstrate to the whole world that they are also members of the party and that they are coming to demonstrate against the progress we are making.”

According to him, there will be enough police presence on the ground to curb unrest and ensure that no offensive material is smuggled into the stadia.

Mr. Cheremeh in an interview with Citi FM’s Eye Witness news said “The police have ensured full protection of lives, and it is also our duty as party members to cooperate fully, for peace to lead”.

Confirming security preparations to the media, the Public Relations Officer of the Brong Ahafo regional police command, ASP Christopher Tawiah, also reiterated the commitment of the police to ensure adequate security at the delegate’s conference, adding the command will deploy over 300 personnel to ensure that law and order is maintained.

“We have mobilized our men from all the districts and all the divisions and the total number as we speak now is 386,” he said.

Meanwhile, grapevine information chanced upon by this paper revealed that Mr. Peter Mac Manu will lead the pack as the Campaign Manager, supported by the Member of Parliament for Okere, Hon Dan Botwe, who was also as the party’s former General Secretary, as the campaign team strategist. John Boadu, Director of Operations, also after his inauguration will be supported by Sammy Awuku, Otiko Djaba and Kamal Deen and all party organizers across the country.

The rest include Mr. Boakye Agyarko as Policy Adviser, Ken Ofori Atta, as Director of fund raising and Edward Boateng as the Director of Administration and logistics.
