NPP�s 15th extraordinary delegates conference underway in Sunyani

The 15th extraordinary national annual delegates’ conference of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is underway in earnest in Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital. 

The day’s conference being held at the Sunyani Coronation Park and attended by delegates from all the 10 regions is on the theme: “Arise for Change 2016,” was declared commenced at about 1130 hours by Mr Freddie Blay, the Acting National Chairman after both Christian and Moslem prayers were said.

Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo, the flag bearer and leader of the Party for Election 2016 and his running mate, Alhaji Dr Mohammadu Bawumiah arrived at the venue at about 1115 hours where the delegates cheered them with a deafening applause.

Among personalities of the party at the event are former President John Agyekum Kufuor, members of the Council of Elders including Mr Hackman Owusu Agyemang and Madam Ama Busia, members of the National Council and the National Executive Committee as well as the Party’s past and current members of parliament.

The highlights of the programme include a report by the acting General Secretary, Mr John Boadu, Mr Blay, about the current state of the party and a message from Madam Busia on behalf of the Council of Elders.

The other aspects would be Mr Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the Minority Leader’s report on the party’s parliamentary affairs, address by ex-President Kufuor, introduction of the National Campaign Team and the parliamentary candidates for Election 2016 and finally an address by Nana Akufo Addo.
