Our Main Problem Is Making Rural Folks Understand NDC Govt Is Cause Of Their Woes - Blay

Acting National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has identified the main problem of his party to be how to make the people in the rural areas to understand that the NDC government is responsible for all the cause of their problems.

According to him, it is time for the party to make the farming communities realize that the Mahama-led administration is not helping the cocoa farmers with the needed spray for their farms as some are even smuggled out.

Speaking in an interview with the host of Oman Fm’s National Agenda programme, Fiifi Boafo, the acting Chairman hinted that the NPP has to work hard to get the attention of the rural folks who are always busy with their farm works and hardly listen to radio stations.

He reiterated that the rural folks don’t have time to participate in the happenings in the country as some of the people don’t even have light to listen to radio and watch television and so it is their duty to alert them on the happenings in the country.

“Our main problem is to make the people in rural areas to understand that the NDC government is the cause of their problems. We have to let them realize for instance that it is the government that is not helping the cocoa farms with sprays and some of the sprays have been smuggled out which is why things are going bad,” he stated.

“Some of the people are very busy with their farming activities and they hardly listen to radio stations for the happenings in the country; some of the people don’t even have the light to listen to radio and watch TV”.

“They don’t even know what is going on around them and so it is difficult bringing people up to see the problems that they are facing. Some even have to conclude that it is by law to remain poor”.

He however urged the party members who are hungry for power to put up more effort as a party to make the rural folks see reason with the party’s mission.

He therefore warned that “we should not assume that the people understand what is happening in the country and that the people will vote us but we need to work harder to convince them”.
