Bus Rebranding: Don't Blame Selassie Ibrahim...She Is Just A Business Woman!

Divine Nkrumah says NDC sympathizer Selassie Ibrahim should not be blamed for winning the bid to rebrand 116 Intercity Transport buses.

According to him, Selassie Nkrumah probably won the contract due to exceptional qualifications as an astute business woman.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that Ghanaians should rather blamed the government for paying that whopping amount of 3.6 million cedis to the business woman to undertake the project.

He explained every business-minded person has a mindset of making profits and so will definitely shoot prices up so as to achieve that goal.

To him, Selassie Ibrahim was lucky to have made a fortune from the contract.

“She is a business woman. She needs money, so she would want to try her luck. And she got people to approve of the payment of the money (to her to carry on with the rebranding of the buses)," he said.

He however stressed that it was wrong on the government to have awarded the contract to Smarttys Management & Production Company through sole-sourcing, and advised the current administration to make contracts open to various companies for them to offer bids so as to make the process transparent and fair.
